Tasteful Tuesday

Thanksgiving is America's national chow-down feast, the one occasion each year when gluttony becomes a patriotic duty.  ~Michael Dresser

So your gonna do it this year- YOUR FIRST THANKSGIVING MEAL!! How you feeling??  Alittle bit of everything right- excited, happy, nervous, the works! Don't worry, 1stclassLadies are here to help you prepare and cook the food, set the table, and entertain your guest. Follow this few tips and we are sure your thanksgiving will be a success.

Lets get right to the main part of the night- THE FOOD! Its always a good idea to prepare as much of thanksgiving as you can the night before so your not crammed on the big day. Desserts can definitely be made the night before as well as cold food that will be served (i.e. potato/ macaroni salad.) Homemade punches can also be prepared before hand this way its nice and cold when served. Depending on the poultry, it should also be season either a day or hours before cooking. This allows the seasoning to set into the meat giving it full flavor. Thanksgiving depending on the size of your party, should have a certain amount of food. If the party consist of  more then eight people, you should have more then two of eat type of  food to eat. For example, have a macaroni and cheese as well as a rice as the starch. Or have a broccoli and a corn. There should always be at least two types of poultry (unfortunately not everyone eats turkey.) Make sure to have finger foods, fruits, and/or salads before the meal in case anyone is alittle hungry when arriving.

Now if the food is going to look good, make sure your place looks great! You want a very inviting and comfy ambiance. Nice warm colors for the fall season are good such as yellows, oranges and browns. Whether it's family and/or friends visiting for the first time make sure the place looks tip top if you plan on giving a tour- First impression mean alot. If you don't plan on given the tour, make sure to close and or lock off limit rooms. Everyone has that aunt that is nosey!! same rules apply for the bathroom. EVERYONE know someone is bound to go through your medicine cabinet. So if there is something in there you don't want them to see REMOVE IT ASAP!
The HOST with the MOST. Not only do you want your Thanksgiving to be the talk amongst family/friends Monday morning, but you want people still talking about it when Christmas comes around. And we are not talking just the food- you want people to still be talking about YOU and how well a host you were. Though thanksgiving is more about the food, you don't want the kitchen to take time away from you and your guest (which is another reason to prepare as much as possible the night before.) Make sure your there to greet your guest as they arrive. Go around every now and again to make sure they is nothing you can do for your guest like get them something to drink. Engage is small conversation with everyone in between checking on the food. This lets the guest know you didn't forget about them. There is always someone that asks do you need help. TAKE IT!! This makes the load alittle lighter and kitchen alittle less work and alittle more laughs. For men, Thanksgiving also means football. Have enough beverage and snacks for them as well as the ladies in attendance.

Follow these steps and you will be 1stClassLadies certified to have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

SOULFUL SUNDAY

“Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
                                                                                                      ― Ralph Emerson

We all have our good days and sometimes we have our bad.  Never let your bad out weigh your good.  As the quotes states finish every day and be done with it.  No matter what happens in a day there is always another day.
Another opportunity to go back at whatever it is you feel wasn't 100%.

Chrissy still doesn't have a ring on her finger and her rapper boyfriend, Jim Jones has already lost his! Jim's mom is wrecking havoc again; she recorded a a diss rap, "Psychotic Bitch," clearly aimed at Jim and Chrissy. Emily is no longer willing to live without a real commitment, so she left the rapper Fabolous and set up house with her two kids. Olivia and Somaya both continue to try and figure out how to survive in the music industry. There are two new women in the mix this season. Yandy is Jones' manager and Kimbella is a video model and the girlfriend and baby mama of rapper Juelz Santana. But three years ago, she was dating Fab. It is a detail that reveals itself at an emancipation party Emily throws to celebrate her newly single status. Hmmm... smells like drama.

Scandalous Saturday

There is a connection between art and sex,
with arousal in one realm speaking to arousal in another.
                                                                                                                                      Laura Jacobs

From The Front To The Back (Uhhh)* We Like It Like That!!!

Whether in a relationship for a couple of months or a decade, the one thing you always try to maintain is the over the top sex-escapades.While it's true that sex should never be the basis of a relationship, you have to keep in hindsight that the physical act does make your emotions stronger. So where do you and your partner stand in the sport? Are you a sex Olympian or a bronze medalist? 1stClassLadies already gave you the where and when; now it's time to show you how and why!!

Though many may view the missionary position as bland, there are many ways to spice up this oldie
but goodie. Ensuring that the job gets done for example: CAT (coital alignment technique), The Golden Gate Bridge, The Bicycle,Rocking The Cradle, and the infamous Jack Hammer!! No matter what your version or style this position is considered one of passion for lovers.

The Reverse cowgirl or Riding Backwards in  laymen terms is for the adventurous, when embarking in this move.. you should know that your woman  is showing you her greatest. Although you may wear the pants as the man, she can wear you out. With a simple arch of the back, she is allowing you the full advantage of hitting the most important of spots. Not to mention bravery for taking control of the depth and speed. So anyone who uses this move, is a showcasing their talents. Yes.. a glimpse of all her eye candy, will have you screaming "Shorty Got Gifts"

There is no greater way to get your woman to be submissive, than the ever so popular "Doggy Style". I don't know but; it's just something about the way a man can pull your hair while stroking you out. And a couple of hand prints on the left cheek don't hurt either. (Sorry i had a moment)* Anyway.. as i was saying, this move is the best of both worlds ladies and gents. Causing legs to tremble and backs to arch!! But also be aware that his move can be seen as demeaning, however if your secure with your partner it's face down a** u! Make us proud (wink)*

Spooning... Awe, isn't that sweet!! Yes, Sir-Cuff-Alot this applies to you!! There is nothing more pro relationship than a man who spoons. You embrace us w/your arms and search for the deepest of connections. Displaying the ultimate gesture of becoming one with your partner. There is nothing more genuine, it's that roll over.. wake up in the morning.. appreciation sex that a spooner is a master at.

Thoughts For Thursday

"For it is in giving that we receive"
                                                   - St. Francis

Tis the season...... A time to express our love and affection for family and friends through an exchange of gifts and food. A time to gather and share laughs with those we cherish dear to our heart. Though this is a beautiful and cheerful time for most, for some it is cold, dark and lonely. Some have nowhere to go to keep from the cold. Others have no clue as to where there next meal will come from. And of course some children worry that because of how or where they live, Santa will not be able to reach them. It is sad to hear but it is even sadder to know that you can make a change of some kind  but choose not to.

Help the HUNGRY. They need to eat EVERYDAY just like we do. Wondering how you can help? Start a food drive of unopened can goods in your community. Make it fun by turning it into a contest. The person with the most cans gets a prize. This makes the process more interesting for those donating and more food for those its being donated to. Then donate all the goods gathered to an organization that helps feed those in need. Two notable organizations are City-Meal-On-Wheels  and City Harvest. We are not the only ones who should enjoy a big harvest this thanksgiving!

Giving back with your TIME. Though gifts are always a great gesture of kindness, sometimes all it takes is a moment of YOUR time to make a difference. There are some people out there with nothing or no one to talk to. No one to make them laugh or smile or just be there during this season of joy. Take a moment out of your busy schedule to be that person forever remembered for their kind words and good heart. Even if the time you spent with that person was brief. It is a moment that can never be given back and you choose to spend that moment with them. For that you will never be forgotten. Isn't that worth it?? You can volunteer at  With NYC  which matches your interest as well as you time to the needs of those in New York. Here you can also find out how to donate cash and/or items to help.

We love the CHILDREN. They are our future and need to be guided into adulthood the right way. However, while they are young they need to enjoy it. Help them do that by donating to Toys For Tots NYC. You can pick your state and county and find out what you can do to help. Help the marines give back to children less fortunate. They also help you put together your own toys for tot party for donating. Any information you need is there. No child should go this season feeling left behind. You can help make sure that happens!

Have a coat or coats in your closet that are of no use to you or your children anymore?? Donate those to someone who can put that to use out here in these cold temps.  Weather might be looking pretty fair now but in these cold days to come, there is adults and children whom cant afford to buy such necessities thats just luxury for us.  Help rapper Fabolous who collaborated with New York Yankees player Robinson Cano, New York Jets Ahmad Bradshaw, and in conjunction with retail store Dr Jays to start their First Annual 3 Kings Coat Drive.  Coats will be collected at 22 Dr Jays stores located throughout the 5 boroughs and donated throughout  New York.
Fabolous is taking on the legendary story of the 3 kings and is giving back to his home town. Winter time is just around the corner and Fabolous in collabortaion with Dr Jays  and others are doing what they can to help their community!!

WANTED WEDNESDAY

If you have a job without any aggravations, you don't have a job."

We all know in any and every job there is what our mothers like to say "days like this."  You can have a job at McDonald's with customers complaints of service taking too long.  The most annoying boss breathing down your neck 24/7 to meet deadlines.  Imagine an office that has so much gossip they could give Wendy Williams a run for her money!! Well all of the above and much more are just examples of common stresses and annoyances at work.  Seen at the majority of work places, unfortunately, you cant escape it however with FirstClassLadies tips you can manage to zone out the unnecessary to enjoy your day at work.

1. Stay Calm

The average person faces around 30 frustrations (or minicrises) every day, and a high proportion of those frustrations occur at work, says St. Paul-based licensed psychologist Anna Maravelas, founder of Thera Rising, a conflict resolution and organizational development consultancy, and author of How to Reduce Workplace Conflict and Stress. But overreacting to a faulty copy machine or an insulting colleague by going into high-drama mode and losing your temper will end up hurting far more than it helps. The cortisone, adrenaline and other chemicals released when you have a temper tantrum will linger for at least two hours after your outburst, Maravelas says. "You don't want to bring all that toxic energy home with you," she says.

2. Have Some Empathy

Remember, those 30 daily frustrations aren't just happening to you, but to every person you encounter during your workday, from the rude customer (who isn't always right, by the way) to your flighty boss. "People are worried about their kids, mortgage, job loss and health insurance," Maravelas says. With so many stressors in the world today, she suggests cutting people some slack and assuming there's a reason they're not behaving perfectly. "Be hard on the problem, but soft on the people," she says. "That creates positive reciprocity. They'll remember how you gave them the benefit of the doubt and will pay you back someday when you need it."

3. Tune Out

Another technique for managing stress is to simply limit your exposure to office drama. "Close your door if you have a door, or close your mind if you have a mind," says Simma Lieberman, an AlbanyCalifornia-based organizational development consultant. "Unless you find it cathartic to get into arguments, when you feel tempted to get involved in office politics, plug in your iPod or music player, stick your headphones in you ears, and just act oblivious."

4. Perfect the Art of the Blow Off

Don't get sucked into conversations with irritating coworkers. If someone walks up to you to purposely get a rise out of you, Lieberman says, a good response is, "Wow, really. I've got to get back to work. See you later." If they're gossiping, say, "Wow, interesting, but I've got to go," or "Why are you saying that?" If they're just always in your face, trying to interact socially (like a grandma constantly showing photos of her grandkids or selling their cookies), walk away or -- better yet -- ask them to do a favor for you. "They'll run away," Lieberman says.

5. Break the Bad Mood Cycle

Good moods at work are contagious, but so are bad moods, says Long Island-based Debbie Mandel, author of Addicted to Stress and a radio host and stress-management expert. "You don't have to internalize a colleague's bad mood," she says. "Either physically move away to break the negative energy, or else get immersed in your work because negativity is contagious."

6. Look for Humor

"Don't take yourself and everyone else so seriously," she says. "Pretend it's a sitcom. If it happens to someone else on TV, we're laughing, but when it happens to us, we take everything so seriously." So have a little fun at work. People who make others laugh are "positive magnets who are the life of the party," Mandel says. Even something as simple as putting up a funny screen saver can lighten your mood and others' moods.

7. Close the Door at the End of the Day

Don't leave issues unresolved at the end of your workday. "If you've made a mistake or gotten into a hassle, take the time to apologize in a nonobsequious way," Lieberman says. "If you go home with stuff left unresolved, it's hard to feel sane." On your way home, visualize the door to your workplace closed, and start thinking about what you're looking forward to at home," Lieberman says. Then, start fresh the next morning. Mandel agrees. "Every day is a new chance to shine," she says. "The slate is clean. It's a new beginning, a fresh start."
