TASTEFUL TUESDAYS

“We are indeed much more than what we eat, but what we eat can nevertheless help us to be much more than what we are.
                                                                                           Adelle Davis

There is nothing that speaks volumes like a great meal, and luckily for Mother's Day that's  just what one of 1stClassLadies had the pleasure of experiencing at The Palm Restaurant. The philosophy of the Palm was created in 1926, by Pio Bazzi and John Gazi. With continued traditions from the Bazzi/Gazi decedents this New York, establishment is best known for there delicious  Italian American inspired cuisine. As well as creating a homelike atmosphere; with a friendly staff who makes your dining experience all that it should be. With classy decor to set the relaxed mood for any occasion whether it be a family gathering, business meeting, or a romantic evening, their intimate tables for two/four with candlelit and characters painted along the walls of those who have visited. And are infamous members of the 873 CLUB.

From start to finish; your engulfed in class.Being greeted and seated.. even a bag/coat check if desired. And before you know it your making a decision between mineral, filtered, or sparkling Palegrino water. Drape your napkin over your lap as you are handed the extensive wine and dinner menu. And prepare to be blown away.

The signature's as well as faces of many Hollywood's elite grace The Palm in character form. The West Side location visited had the legendary god- father of soul James Brown, right where I was sitting. Our waiter was attentive and hospitable; never making us feel like a burden. He even had useful suggestions on selecting our cocktails ( Margarita & PomTini). The Lobster tail from Novas kosha was succulent; having just the proper amount of breadcrumbs on top. Sided  with a sizzling serving of mash potato with three cheeses . The salmon my husband devoured was flaky and slightly buttered. Combined with a filling amount of fries to compliment his plate.

After such indulgence you can't possibly forget about dessert or that after dinner espresso... The Palm offers all the goods, from there half pint of pistachio or vanilla gelato. To the many different variety of cakes ( flour-less chocolate cake, carrot cake, 7 layer dark chocolate, key lime pie, cheesecake) creme brulee , a warm bag of mini dough-nuts, and even gelatin!!!
