WANTED WEDNESDAYS

“Why can't everyone be treated equally? Forgotten of what they did wrong, but remember their rights? Why can't the whole world just get along?”
-Fei loves Meng

Sunday May 20th will be the annual New York Aids Walk.  Did you know within the United States there is 1.1 million people living with the disease???????  With such a huge amount of people dealing with this disease we can only imagine what they go through day to day.  It is one thing to share your status with your loved ones and close friends.  You receive you support from these people you have in your life.  However should you keep this a secret from the work place??

The number one problem we see a person having when it comes to sharing their status with those outside of family and friends can be the judgement they receive in which no one deserves.  Certain companies have their own policies when it comes to illnesses or certain health issues where you must report them to your higher ups.  In this matter is there way of protecting themselves from a law suit say something happens to you while on the job and they arent aware of your condition.  Another reason for telling your status to your subordinates of the workplace is so if you have unexplained absences or know that you will have to take random time off they can understand as to why you need the necessary time.
Under no circumstance if having to inform the workplace should it be told to anyone else besides your subordinates or else that is considered breaking your privacy right act and laws.
