What: Free Tuesday's at the Bklyn Botanic Garden: Every Tuesday, enjoy free admission to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Stop by on October 11 to admire the fall foliageand seasonal gardens. Visitors can also explore special exhibitions like Native New Yorkers, a garden-wide trail that highlights local floras (and the faunas that call them home); Natural History at the Brooklyn BotanicGarden, an installation by artist Patrick Dougherty, who weaved tree saplings together to create a structure that looks like it was plucked out of the film version of Where the Wild Things Are; and, in the Steinhardt Conservatory Gallery, artist Anders Knutsson's life-size portraits of trees.

What: Halloween @ The A-Scarium: Dress up the whole family and come to the New York Aquarium for their annual Halloween celebration. Get to know monsters of the deep, or become a sea monster yourself with a special A-scarium face painting. Dodge sea jellies at the “Alien Stingers” exhibition and keep your eyes peeled for in-your-face creatures in 4-D. Kids ages three to 12 dressed in an animal costume get in free with a paying adult.
