THOUGHTS FOR THURSDAY

"A man's work is from sun to sun, but a mother's work is never done"

We've all grown up watching our favorite tv shows and we remember those women who've played as the mother.  Some reminding us of our own mom at home.  This Mother's Day we would like to reminisce on the most infamous TV MOM'S!!

Claire Huxtable.....who doesnt know of the Cosby Show.  Mrs Huxtable was played by Phylicia Rashad infamously married to Bill Cosby on the show.  Claire made a great imprint in TV history as a black woman who took care of her family as well as having her own career.  During this time era african american families weren't depicted in this light, making her one of the greatest tv moms to salute!

Temporary LayOffs...Good Times, Easy Credit RipOffs...Good Times, Scratchin and Surviving...Good Times,....the theme song said it all.  Esther Rolle played Florida Evans in the hit show "Good Times" We commend Florida for representing all the mothers struggling with their families to make ends meet and dealing with the social problems as well.  She raised three children living in a rented project apartment yet alwasy managed to show that even through tough times every thing will be alright.

"Did I do that" was the recurring saying and most memorable line of this sitcom.  Family Matters had Jo Marie Payton as Harriette Winslow the mother of the house for this sitcom.  She was the mom that you could talk to when in a bind but also sure to punish you if your in the wrong, all with a Happy Ending!

Everybody might hate Chris but every mother on this planet loves Tichina Arnold as Rochelle on "Everybody hates Chris"  She definitely without a doubt represents the mom who is absolutely head of household, makes sure dinner is ready, kids are in line, and husband pays bills on time!!!

"Apple Head" is just one of the many names Mama Payne used to identify daughter in law Gina Waters on the hit sitcom "Martin".  Mama Payne represented all the mothers who tell it like it is and had no shame!!!

Louise Jefferson played by Isabel Sanford didnt let moving on up to the eastside affect her as a mother.  Louise was the nurturing mother that represented us all.

Marge, who is voiced by Julie Kavner, is famously married to Homer Simpson.  Marge is your typical american housewife raising three children and with Bart as one of them, hats off to her!!

Sophia Petrillo played by Estelle Getty is most remembered for playing the mother of Dorothy Zbornak.  No one can forget Sophia's comical comments throughout the sitcom but when coming to lending an ear or a shoulder to cry on she was just the right mom to handle the job and make you laugh all at the same time.

Who Was Your Favorite TV Mom Growing Up??
