DINE IN

During this fall when you cant go out to eat bring it in!!  Instead of dinner out, try preparing a romantic dinner for the two of you.  Set the table with candles and rose pedals, pull out your best China, some smooth music, and surprise your mate after a long days work!!

VACATION

If your able to do so take your mate on a romantic get away!!!!  What better way to escape the weather here then to travel to another location where the weather is warm and the sun is bright!!

WALKS IN THE PARK

The most romantic thing you can do in the fall is taking a nice walk around some beautiful scenery either day or night!  This will give you and your spouse a romantic feel and also time to talk and share thoughts.  Not to mention cuddling, hand holding, and plenty lip locking!!

1stClassLadies have introduced to our supporters some of today's best underground talent within the past year. From rapper to singers both males & females we gave you the real deal. All of these people were from different places with different stories but all had one ultimate goal- for their talent to be heard and recognized for what it was-DOPE! Just like some of you 1stClassLadies  were wondering what some of them were up to and what moves had the made in order to make that goal a reality.  Check out the update on two of our most requested updates as we reunite for a quick 411 catch up! 

Last time we chatted with 1StClassladies  little brother Richlowe, he was on the rise to the top and couldn't anyone stop him. Well we couldn't be more happy to say that NO ONE has!! Recently signed to Def Squad records, Richlowe is in the process of working  on his album titled "Mr. Incredible." Richlowe has more say in the direction of his music then most artist have as he writes and produces every song on his own. What other task does the young talent have at hand you ask? How about starting his own production company with his adopted brother B Sharpe called FosterBrother production. You can see his most recent work on YouTube as Richlowe just debuted his new video " U Dat B*t*h." Continue the success brother and as you would say " you can only go up from here!"

1stClassLadies couldn't do an update without informing the public on one of our favorite and most humble features. We are talking about that of Cortez. He's good looks and charm my woe the ladies but its not what got this serious lyrist to the top. Hard work and dedication is responsible for that and is what keeps this star on the rise a lot. Aside from battles Cortez has been exposing his talent in shows all over the tri state area. The latest creation added to his belt is his single release "heartbreaker" which 1stclassladies had the pleasure of attending its release party. Produced by Mighty Fuzz Young & features Oun-P this song is the talk of the entire east coast. Of course the highley raved mix tape the XXL " Im in a class all by myself" is in heavy rotation and starring up a lot of talk. This mix includes countless features including 1stClassladies feature DChambers as well as seven videos. " the response from the public has inspired me to work on my next project."  and just what might that be you ask? Cortez is working on his debut album tilted "The Exception." No better name for a person who makes sure to self him self apart from the rest of the game. With all that's going on Cortez has not forgotten about his people or where he came from. He is doing an EP with heavy hitter producer 5th Seal call " The Classic"- Mrytle.  " This project is an ode to my neighborhood. The old El line rumbling over head.....what depicted Mrytle Ave and dubbed it Murda Ave."  fans can get a piece of Cortez for free as copies of "16's & Better" will be disturbed. Get a look out what's to come next. All 1stClassLadies have to say about that is TOMA!!!!

They always say you've got a great thing when finding a woman that can quote on quote "throw down" in the kitchen.  Well ladies and gents the product of that is exactly what you'll get from the chef of Feisty Flavors Cindy Thomas!!  Some might think, looking from the outside, that being a great chef is as easy as just cooking.  That's where you have to separate the beginners from the advanced.  Having been inspired by her uncle (who was also a chef), Cindy's creativity from young led her to the culinary field as a way to express herself and talents.  Being in a field that is very competitive, Cindy is definitely bringing her "Anything you can do I can do better" game.  Alongside her recipe for who she is in her profession, is her vivid imagination, willingness to take risks, and a strong business sense.

What is Feisty Flavors might you ask??  Feisty Flavors is a catering of Nouveau Caribbean with Asian, Latin, Italian Fusion.  Cindy has discovered a knack for taking old favorites and turning them into elegant dishes that blow her clients away when being presented for many events!  Dishes such as Herb Roasted Chicken with steamed Veggies and Cheddar Biscuit, Grilled Salmon with Mango Cucumber Salsa and Coconut Rice, Mac Attack, Shrimp Lo Mein, BBQ Salmon and Rasta Pasta, just to name a few mouth watering cuisines. 

You will be seeing much more of Feisty Flavors as Cindy has accomplished much in her career and much more to come.  She has been put on camera for an Internet cooking show, catered for a many private events and affairs including this one pictured below "We Run the Night" with celebrity guest speaker "Love and Hip Hop" Emily B!!  Look out for her upcoming collaboration with wine expert Charles Springfield.  This will be a wine and food tasting held at Manhattan's Serendipity Wines!!

There is a male dominance in the field of cooking but its just like Cindy says ".....but being the feisty creature that i am, i just fight my way through, its going to be hard to stop me"!!  From the chef to aspiring chefs "I would say to be aware of competition, but don’t be consumed by it. Take risks, think outside the box…you’ll be surprised at what you can do. Most of all, stay positive and humble…no matter how talented you are, you have to have a good attitude…it will take you very far.  We couldn't agree more!!!!!

Foreign Lottery Scam: Here’s one straight from Transylvania. You get a letter telling you that you’ve won a million dollars. All you have to do is sacrifice your personal identification and you are on your way to riches. Don’t let some financial blood-sucker take a bite out of your bank account with the foriegn lottery scams. Just say no.

Mystery Shopper Scam: Some invisible man wants to mail you a check to deposit into your bank. Once the check has cleared (which it never will) he says you will get to go on a shopping spree or you’ll qualify for a job as a mystery shopper. Of course there is no real job. This is totally fictitious. The only mystery here is the identity of the financial predator you’ve just turned your bank account information over to. Do yourself a favor and make this phantom disappear by telling him “thanks, but no thanks.”




Debt Collection Scam: You killed that ancient evil department store credit card balance over a decade ago. But alas, long after the statue of limitations has expired, some zombie debt collector is demanding payment — with interest and penalties too! Shoot this one in the head with a debt verification letter.



Home Repair Scam: After a recent storm or just normal wear-and-tear, your driveway or front yard looks like hell. But here comes an “angel” who just happened to be in your neighborhood (you know, right after that latest storm or natural disaster has occurred). And oh blessed day, he wants to “save” you with some left over concrete to fix up your driveway.
Either that or you can pay him an upfront deposit and at a much later date, he promises to magically re-appear to fix your broken windows or cut down those trees that are now hanging perilously. Beware of the driveway/ home repair scam, and send this fallen angel back to whence he came.

Work from home scam: You’ve heard the pitch: Make a thousand dollars a day stuffing envelopes. That means you will earn up to $365,000 per year! Sounds like a tempting deal, which isn’t surprising because in this case you’d be making a deal with the devil.

Plan B In Schools?

1stClassLadies in a previous post informed our readers that a school was planning to distribute condoms at prom. This sparked a lot of opinions and caused a lot of talk both negative and positive. It was later decided that handing out condoms( though it was designed to promote safe sex) was not going to happen. If that wasn't enough uproar it has come to the public attention that 13 NYC high schools are offering the Plan B pill (also known as the morning after pill) to high school girls if they need it.

This was considered a pilot program starting back in January 2011. It offers girls as young as 14yrs old permission to receive the plan B pill from their school nurse up to 72hrs after having unprotected sex. The process would go as follows:

• Walk into the school nurse office and request the pill
• The female would then be given a pregnancy test
• If the result come back as negative she would then be given the plan B pill

According to the Department of health 7,000 girls get pregnant every year and of them more then half get an abortion and 90% of them are unplanned.

With every good intention idea there will be backlash. For some this is just promoting unsafe sex. Yes kids have unprotected sex in some cases anyways but some may view this as a reason to be LESS careful and/or more willing to have a "slip-up" every now and again. This is because they know plan B will be available to them. It is an unfortunate truth that babies are having babies however is this how we want to prevent it? Are we teaching them to live up to their responsibilities as they become young adults?

Understand parents DO have a say in the matter and if you would NOT like your child to participate in the program you can sign a statement saying so. If a parent does NOT sign the form the school can and will administer the pill without their permission. This is why it is very important to be involved in your young child's life. Let them know its okay to talk to you and make sure they understand that whatever the case is they can come to you and it will be handled accordingly. These are the facts people!! If you have a teen girl in high school be sure to check and see if her school offers the pill and then take the steps you need to feel comfortable.

Dating.......is a nerve reckoning word for some of us when we hear it!  You meet a guy or a lady and the initial first conversations are a breeze.  Everything is always pretty chill when talking over the phone and the texting back and forth until..........one party asks of the other for a date.  Of course you agree as you are interested in this person and then it kicks in.......OMG....what will I wear?, where are we going to?, what do i say?, what do i not say?  So many things run through your head as you invision what this date will be like.  Well we are here to ease your fears and calm your curiosity and give some tips on "The First Date"

 

 

BE YOU

 

First things first....always be you!  The first date is the introduction of the two of you out or even in, in person.  Dont come into this date acting a different way because of how you think they would want you to be.  Dress how you would dress and not by what you think they want to see.  Show the person your true personality: smiles, laughter, gestures, etc.  This will allow both of you to know if your a person they want to continue seeing.  Theres nothing truier than being yourself.

 

ENJOY THE MOMENT

 

Know that the first date could also be the last date!  With that said enjoy and live in the moment.  This could be the most impressive date youve ever gone on, so be sure to let your nerves go, exhale, and have fun!

 

LEAD THE WAY

 

This one is for the Ladies!!!!  Believe it or not, all men are up to date or date savvy!!  Though we as the females might be nervous about the date, they might be nervous about where to take us out on a date.  Most of the time when talking a bit prior to the date you can get a sense of each others likes and dislikes which can make it a bit easier to say "ok, bowling" or "ok, dinner".  If there isn't much sharing of the interests before hand then dont be afraid to initiate that specification of what you would like to spend the first date doing!

 

TO MEET OR TO PICK UP

 

Decisions, Deciosions....this can be a tough one!  Not everyone drives and in some situations you have the woman who drives and the man who doesnt.  Do you pick him up, HELL NO!!!!!  We advise that the two parties meet at whatever location the date will take place.  This saves on awkward pick ups, drop offs, and leaves a clean get away if this date is a FAILURE!!!  On a positive note it also saves your conversation for the date and not for the ride in the car.

 

AMBIANCE

 

To our GENTS please please think of Ambiance when thinking about where to take your potential lady on a first date.  A first date should not be at the following places:

RUDENESS

 

In this day and age we know most cant live without their phones, laptops, ipads, and tablets!  This will be a time when you will have to adjust.  By turning your phone on SILENT and not necessarily off completely, it shows your date that you are 100% present.  Who wants to be out on a date when hearing a phone ring and they pick up the call??? How RUDE!!!!  That speaks volumes to the other party in saying "You just couldnt wait, could you" !!!!

 

 

GIVE ALITTLE

As the rapper Trina would say "Give a little thigh, Give a little hip" , Ladies NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!  However you really like this man your out with its ok to show that with little gestures.   Smile, laugh, giggle. You could manage at some point of the date holding hands, find yourselves being stuck in a gaze, could find yourselves in a long romantic kiss, you never know!!!
