“Appropriate Attire for an Interview”

As an interviewer looking upon my interviewee I start to think in my head “Resume Check, Education Check, Work Experience Check” I go to look from a well prepared resume which says “he/she has great credentials” and when coming into contact for an interview see a disaster.  Not being judgmental but when interviewing for a possible job or career one must not only play the part but always look the part. To my Fashionistas who “wow” the on lookers at the hottest venues, as you step foot in the door with your trendiest ensembles and highest pumps, and to my Gents who look oh so right head to toe with a “what competition” swag, you can take that same got to impress approach in your choice outfits for an interview. At the end of the day first impressions are last impressions.  


For the ladies we suggest the following:

·         Classic Suit (be mindful if wearing a suit skirt, it should be long enough so you can sit                   down comfortably)

·         Coordinated Blouse

·         Conservative Shoes

·         Limited Jewelry ( No Hoops, Bamboos, feathers, etc…tackiness)

·         No Jewelry is better than cheap jewelry

·         Professional Hairstyle

·         Light Makeup and Perfume

·         Neatly manicured clean nails

·         Portfolio or briefcase (Not your best LV bag)

For the Gents we suggest the following:

·         Tailored Suit

·         Long sleeve dress shirt

·         Belt

·         Tie

·         Conservative leather shoes (please….dark  socks)

·         Little or No Jewelry

·         Neat haircut or tamed if you’re dealing with a long mane

·         Neatly trimmed nails

·         Portfolio or briefcase
