Fall Make Over

Be Beautiful in every season- Jenn Lo 1CL

2012 Fall Make Over

Just like most we try to revamp our self for the new season. Newest and trendiest sweaters, jeans, boots and accessories to look our best this fall. Why not have the same attitude when it comes to looking our best through hair and makeup. 1stClassladies have put together a list of must haves for this falls hair and makeup. The looks to wear, the tools to use, and the best ways to achieve these styles. Being an artist is great but being able to style yourself up to be a different you everyday is even greater artist!

Lets Start With The hair. The weather is less exhausting and hot so let your hair hang down a bit. Enjoy the big curls or deep waves. Before you know it it will be time to throw all in hat on so embrace this time. In love with your short hair? Not a problem. Put a new twist on it for the new season. Change up the color with either a lighter highlight or a darker color completely to complement the season and the calmer tones that are considered to go with fall.

Face can STILL be made. Don't feel like you have to only wear neutral to express yourself. Color goes a LONG way just tone it down a little. Instead of a lime green trade it out for a hunter green with maybe a bit of glitter if you still want a bit of the summer sizzle. If you going to use neutrals add a pop of color as one of the shades to keep a bit of you in the look. Ladies we get lighter as we get deeper into fall because our tans fade. PLEASE remember to change your foundation!! You do NOT want your neck and your face to be two different shades. That is a photo no no!

1stClassLadies considers  the lips to be the final touch. You want them to be what makes the look complete and successful. Just because we had to say goodbye to summer for a while doesn't mean we have to do the same with our favorite lip wear. You can tone down your summer bright lipsticks with a dark lip liner. The is a cost conscious way of utilizing products you already own. 1stClassLadies prefer to use less shinny colors and use matte lipstick for the fall.

Enjoy the season with a new you every time it comes around!! Here are fall inspired tutorials 1stClassLadies enjoyed from some of there favorite YouTube channels. Hope y'all enjoyas well!!

Blockheads

Though summer is gone that does NOT mean fun nights are as well. If you and your friends still want a nice spot to have a good time that includes great drinks and food at a reasonable price then Blockheads is the spot for you.

Blockheads consist of three Locations in the New York City area but each one is packed with the same excitement. This Mexican restaurant is good for any type of company. Whether its a date, group outing or a solo night that just wasn't worth sitting in the house. The dim lighting sets the mellow tone for the night. Don't feel like sitting inside? No problem! Blockheads offers great but limited outside seating.

Now let's talk about food! 1stClassLadies Jenn's favorite is burritos! So much food- she couldn't even finish it in one seating. Everything is well seasoned and fresh! From the soft tacos to the guacamole dip we promise you won't leave unsatisfied.

Of course no outing is complete without drinks! The are big, far from watered down, and some of the best prices 1stClassLadies have seen in a while. Looking for a sweet but tasteful drink? Have a frozen margarita with plenty of flavors to choose from. Fellas maybe interested in the bulldog as it comes with a Corona beer on top. Let's not get it twisted ladies you TOO can enjoy a bulldog! 1stClassLadies has yet to see a drink from their special drinks menu more then $10. Is that the icing on the cake or what?!?!?

So make sure to visit Blockheads for a good time. You won't be disappointed. Who knows- you might even catch us there!

dress for success

You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it- Edith Head

Dressing For The Part

Ever walked into a place of business and wondered why an employee is dressed a certain way and how did the even get the job?? Like why would someone work in a school in which there are children but have on daisy dukes. Or your going to see a lawyer and he's dressed in jeans and sneakers. Is this the ideal person you want teacheribg your child? Would this person be someone a judge would take serious let alone you?

Yes your cloths are an expression of who you are as an individual, there is a also a time and place for everything. Just like your cloths describe you YOU describe your place of business. You want people to treat you a certain way depending on you profession. A clown would not want to be taken serious as he is there to make people laugh. Therefore he would not put on a suit. Let 1stClassLadies give you a helping hand in figuring out what appropriate work attire is.

-If you have to check twice its not right. If you put on an outfit and have to keep fixing it in the mirror like pulling it down, twisting it around, or even have to ask yourself if it's right- its not! Checking it in the house mirror is one thing but there are not mirrors at ever corner at work and you don't want to feel insecure in your clothing.

- Know what cloths are appropriate. Ask yourself "will I like the attention I will get in this" " can this outfit be perceived as to much/to little" "if I was someone looking at me would the reaction be a positive one or negative." If the answer is no or negative to any of these then it's not right and you shouldn't wear it.

- A uniform CAN go wrong. Some people are required to wear a uniform for work. Though this is convenient it too can be wrong. Most companies used uniforms to look professional and in order to have staff look like a team. It should not be wrinkle, washed out or small fitting. Take care of your uniform as you would your everyday cloths. It is apart of your wardrobe as well.

Even Santa keeps it clean

Understand they once you have the job you don't stop looking and bring your best. Dress everyday ready and prepared. If you dress right, you feel right and if you feel right you do right! If you need help ASK!! 1stClassLadies can not stress enough in our articles how important it is to be safe then sorry. Don't worry if someone looks at you funny because your not exactly sure what to wear. We guarantee they are still going to help you.

We act the way we dress. Neglected and untidy clothes reflect a neglected and untidy mind- Unknown

In October.....We Wear Pink

"Breast cancer is not just a disease that strikes at women. It strikes at the very heart of who we are as women: how others perceive us, how we perceive ourselves, how we live, work and raise our families-or whether we do these things at all."
-Debbie Schultz

In October.....We Wear Pink

When most think of pink we think of girly little five year olds playing dress up.  We even see the guys embracing the popular color, and with style.  This October 1stclassladies think of the color pink as much more than the usual sweet glitz and glam.  We walk with stride for a much stronger and powerful pink.  This month represents BREAST CANCER AWARENESS!!!

IF ONLY WOMEN PAID AS MUCH ATTENTION TO THEIR BREAST AS MEN!!

Sad to say but it is true.  A lot of women dont know the stats of this disease. If we educate ourselves more we can pick up on the signs and get the proper help thats necessary.  Below weve listed the stats and also a guide of detecting it early on.

STATS

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for lung cancers. About 1 in 8 (12%) women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer.  American Cancers Society most recent estimates for breast cancer in the United States are for 2012:
  • About 226,870 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women.
  • About 63,300 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be diagnosed (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer).
  • About 39,510 women will die from breast cancer
After increasing for more than 2 decades, female breast cancer incidence rates began decreasing in 2000, then dropping by about 7% from 2002 to 2003.  Incidence rates have been stable since 2004.
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer.  These decreases are believed to be the result of earlier detection through screening and increased awareness, as well as improved treatment.
At this time there are more than 2.9 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. (This includes women still being treated and those who have completed treatment.)

EARLY DETECTION

Women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram every year and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health.
  • Current evidence supporting mammograms is even stronger than in the past. In particular, recent evidence has confirmed that mammograms offer substantial benefit for women in their 40s.  A mammogram will miss some cancers, and it sometimes leads to follow up of findings that are not cancer, including biopsies.

  • Mammograms for older women should be based on the individual, her health, and other serious illnesses, such as congestive heart failure, end-stage renal disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and moderate-to-severe dementia. Age alone should not be the reason to stop having regular mammograms.
Women in their 20s and 30s should have a clinical breast exam (CBE) as part of a periodic (regular) health exam by a health professional, at least every 3 years. After age 40, women should have a breast exam by a health professional every year.
  • CBE is a complement to mammograms and an opportunity for women and their doctor or nurse to discuss changes in their breasts, early detection testing, and factors in the woman's history that might make her more likely to have breast cancer.

Fall Must Haves

A true person of fashion knows how to change with the season- Trina 1CL

~Fall Must Haves~

Fall is now upon us and it is time to switch up our style to fit the changing weather. Though we have to say goodbye to bathing suits and flip flop for a while,we still can enjoy the weather- in a stylish manner!! 1stClassLadies is going to help our supporters ease in to the new season in the best attire for Fall 2012. Here is our top must haves.

Structured Bags are MUST ladies for the fall. Big buckles, straps, charms are all the things that help make a bag stand out from the rest. Warm colors go well with the fall so try a brown bag with gold buckles or a navy blue shoulder purse with a chain as the strap. A fashionista must be stylish in any event so even the smallest bag must be a knockout.  1stClassLadies however love to do things big- the bigger the bag the better!!!

No fall is complete without a nice pair of boots. This is for both our male and female readers. Going through fall without a good pair of fall fashion boots is like stepping in the snow with a pair of Skippy shoes- #epicfail! Black, brown, blue, cream, suede, leather, heels or flats it doesn't just make sure you have a pair  to pull out because we guarantee you'll need them!

Chunky jewelery is always good as well. You can turn any ordinary outfit into something completely different. Take the infamous black dress as an example. So simple so plain but with the proper chunky chain or big bracelets you can turn the outfit up 100%. Fellas you also can join in on the jewelry scene as well. You to need to make sure you arm candy is just as on point as the sexy candy that is holding your arm :)

With colder weather comes bundle gear so make sure you have a hat- the right hat! Fellas fashionable beanies are definitely the way to go. Ladies try the forever favorite JLo hat. You too can be from the block and not look it. The best part about hats is you can play with the style, color and texture just as you can with your shoes. Being able to be playful with your wardrobe is always a plus.

With these essentials you are sure to stay warm and look your best. Who's to say being covered up can't look so good!

Scandalous Saturday

"What You Do In The Darkness Always Comes To Light.. I'm Just Saying"
                                                                                                               - Angelia.W

With Summer almost over there's  no way we couldn't recap the drama filled events that have happened within the last couple of months. So the 1stClassLadies have sat down to relive the madness of Summer.

First things first, there is no way we could not address the very public disappointment known as Ocho Cinco and Evelyn. After only 41 days of marriage; paradise has turned into a all out typical circus. With accusations of cheating; after Evelyn confronted Chad about a  Walgreen's receipt with a condom purchase.  She found the July 20th dated receipt while removing groceries from the couples car. A devastating reality for the Basketball Wives star after only being married to Ocho Cinco for only three weeks. A very public allegation of domestic violence (head butting). Leading to the cancellation of their upcoming reality spin-off show Ev & Ocho. Not to mention the loss of endorsements for Chad. And cancellation of his position as receiver on the Miami Dolphins, 24 hours after his arrest and release on two thousand dollars bail. Lozada took a much needed vacation to Barbados to create some much needed space. Reflecting on the short lived marriage and her steps to follow.

She sat down with Nightline to discuss the heartbreaking details of the altercation for the first time last night (August 31,2012). Admitting that she still loves him, but feels he needs help. " He is a good guy, that made a bad choice" "He made a choice that ruined his life.. and I hate that i'm connected to that" She also states that " No woman should feel that type of fear of their husband"... and she will never go through that again, ever!!". Although we know Jen, (Ev's friend) may be saying I told you so!!  We hope that the past altercations were truly put behind them. So she can be the support system Ev needs right now.

Now if that wasn't enough to digest this past Sunday, Rihanna  recently doted the "Essence of F&*%^" by Esquire magazine. Sat down in a exclusive one on one interview; to discuss her grief of her recently passed Grand,Gran Dolly.. her tumultuous battle with living in the spotlight. Embracing her flaws to be a peer to her fans, and not a role model because she fears the expectations of being on a pedestal. How she feels fame, may have been a key factor on why she couldn't recover from the Chris Brown incident healthy. As well as her rekindling a relationship with her father. To heal from the things she obseved as a child.  With whom you ask?? Well the answer should be obvious.. Oprah of course!!  to see the whole interview go to th e following link Rihanna On OWN

For all my Twilight fans.. I know your world was rock upon hearing that Bella (Kristen Stewart) had cheated on Edward ( Robert Pattison).

While filming Snow White and The Huntsman. However after sharing a smooch with co-star Liberty Ross'( who plays her mother in the film)  hubby director Rupert Sanders. The actress has publicly apologized to her four year beau Pattison.  Expressing her regret and love for her twilight leading man.Yet it may all be to little to late as rumors of him finding emotional solace with Katy Perry have come to light. So what will this mean for the final stint of the "Twilight" saga?? Well the studio has decided that, if the pair can not come to some kind of reconciliation. In time for the promo tour than Kristen's interview engagements; will be handed off to her co-star Ashley Greene.

Last but not least.. The Olympian Lance Armstrong was stripped of his 7 gold medals!! Why?? Well the Tour De France super athlete had allegations of a lil help from a  white substance. Causing the USADA to ban him from cycling for life.USADA found Armstrong participated in a team doping conspiracy that continued for years, using banned substances and prohibited blood transfusions to gain a competitive edge. It ordered the cyclist disqualified from all results from Aug. 1, 1998, through today, which includes the seven consecutive Tour titles won from 1999 through 2005.
