                                                                                        - A$AP Rocky

In the ever growing culture of hip hop, you have to take inspiration and build from it to grow. And the following two artist are doing just that. So you know 1stClassLadies had to keep you informed on what's.. what  and who is considered worthy of mentioning and inducting into the semi circle of soon to be musical evolutionist's of sound. Keep in mind this isn't your typical definition of emcee's these artist are branching off of what the greats inspired. But can the surpass greatness with a modern day hip hop sound?? Only time and the charts will tell!!

Many of you know A$AP Rocky from his recent successful single "Peso". Yet before the Harlem, N.Y natives single was leaked in August of 2011. Making him a  BBC sound for 2012 poll nominee; and eventually landing him on Drake's "Club Paradise Tour" he was just Rakim Mayers. Looking at this world of hip hop as a way out from his harsh reality. Now with a three million dollar record deal; plus the backing of Sony & RCA. The hunger for success is definitely in the air, with diligence he is currently pushing the limits of the expected Harlem sound. While paying homage to those who have inspired him such as The Diplomats,Bone Thugz n Harmony, UGK, and Mobb Deep to name a few . Rhyming over hard beats, with a laid back Cali influence. Leaving his fan base with anxious anticipation of his Album "LongLiveA$AP", hopefully to drop in May.

                                                           A$AP Rocky " Purple Swag"

If you haven't heard of Kendrick Lamar, then where have you been? The Californ-i-a native has worked with everyone from Snoop, Dre, The Game, Drake, Tech N9ne, and Wiz Khalifah just to name a few. But it takes more than that to be featured as one of XXL's freshman class 2011. Before being Kendrick Lamar his alias was K.Dot,  releasing his first mixtape in 2003, at the tender age of 16. "Youngest Nigga In Charge" was enough to get him the attention of Top Dawg Records. Then proceeding to put out a 26 track mixtape " Training Day " two years later; only gained him more notoriety. Blowing critics away with his " Overly Dedicated" mixtape. Featuring one of his popular singles "Ignorance Is Bliss" Glorifying the traditional West Coast gangsta rap genre; and cynically stating that living in such ignorance is blissful. Setting Lamar up for consideration of being signed to Aftermath Records, after working on Dr. Dre's "Detox" album. He then released his  much anticipated third solo project "Section 80" to high acclaim. Curretly he is newly signed to Interscope, Aftermath Entertainment due to a joint venture of Top Dawg Records. So his album "Good Kid Mad City" should be coming soon.
